5 Year Anniversary

November Update 2017

This month ‘Elite Finance Professionals is very proud and thrilled to be celebrating its 5th birthday! On a personal level, it is an outstanding achievement given the heartache, sweat, and many late nights establishing and growing a business from nothing. The process has certainly presented some interesting challenges and quite a different reality after spending twelve years receiving a comfortable corporate income with regular 8-5 hours. In light of the difficulties, I am most excited about the fact that today Elite Finance Professionals now has two head offices, located in the heart of Bondi (NSW) & Noosa (QLD). Moreover, I recently took on a young mortgage broker, Boston Chuauthai, who has started with the same vision and passion as I did in providing the best possible advice and service with regards to home lending.

I am often asked why I changed career directions so drastically. Quite simply, I had an innate burning desire to build a business and income stream with minimum dependence on uncontrollable factors, and to achieve the ultimate dream of living a life of freedom and choice.

In other words, I wanted to have the ability to live the life I personally desired. I’m not there yet entirely, but I feel exceptionally confident I am heading in the right direction.

5 key lessons I have gained over the past 5 years:David Ray

– The best way to build a business is to focus on providing amazing customer experiences and tailored client outcomes.

– Patience and consistency is key to building a business (focus on a 1% improvement each day).

– Learn, learn and never stop learning. Evolve, adapt and embrace change.

– Daily practice of re-framing negative experiences into positive gains. Don’t sweat the short-term volatility of business life.

– Anyone can be successful if you have a goal, work hard and consistently improve and never give up.

Finally, I believe one’s journey and the ability to achieve success comes down to the support of the people around you in life. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank my greatest support, my wife Georgia Ray, for believing in me through thick and thin.

Business life is not all roses. You do have to commit a lot of time and thinking the cause – constantly dealing with extreme highs and lows in the short term, whilst trying to manage personal relationships with family and friends to stay balanced. Sacrifice is only inevitable. For those who are wondering when I will be back training, the answer is in the not too distant future. I still dream of returning to take on another Ironman triathlon, except this time I will aim to be faster and stronger.

I would also like to sincerely thank all my clients, referrers and dear friends for entrusting myself to provide you with advice. Without you, this dream would not have been possible.

Now, before I get back to work, I would like to impart my final thought for the day.

I have found that people support you when they can honestly see you genuinely care for their cause

– their family, their goals and ultimately their dreams.

If you are considering starting your own business, It is never a perfect time.  However, life is short, and you never know what the future holds, so make the most of today!

Be the best you can be!

David
